Medigap Plan G vs Plan N vs High-Deductible G
Compare annual cost across the three most popular Medicare Supplement plans.
How to use this calculator
- If you already have premium quotes for Plan G, Plan N, or High-Deductible G, type them in. If not, the defaults are typical Arizona rates for someone turning 65.
- Estimate how many doctor or specialist visits you will have this year. Plan N charges a $20 copay per visit — Plan G does not.
- Leave Part B excess charges at $0 unless you know your doctor does not accept Medicare assignment. In Arizona, almost all providers do — so this is rare.
- The orange-bordered card is the cheapest plan based on your inputs. The break-even table at the bottom shows how each plan compares as your visits go up.
Tip: Plan G is most popular because it is predictable — small Part B deductible ($283 in 2026), then almost nothing else out of pocket. High-Deductible G is the cheapest in a healthy year, but you could pay up to $2,950 out of pocket if you have a bad one. Plan N rewards you for staying healthy with a lower premium and small visit copays.
