2026 Part B Premium & IRMAA Estimator
Find out what you’ll actually pay for Medicare Part B based on your income.
How to use this calculator
- Pick your tax filing status — single or married filing jointly is most common.
- Enter your Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI). Medicare uses your tax return from two years ago, so for 2026 IRMAA enter your 2024 MAGI (Form 1040, Line 11, plus any tax-exempt interest from Line 2a).
- Choose whether you have a Part D drug plan. If yes, your Part D premium also gets a small IRMAA surcharge at higher income tiers.
- Read your result on the right. Most retirees fall in the Standard tier and pay $202.90/mo with no IRMAA.
Tip: If your income dropped because of a life-changing event — retirement, divorce, death of a spouse, or selling a house — you can file Form SSA-44 with Social Security to request a lower IRMAA. A licensed broker can help you decide if you qualify.
