I Started Helping Seniors With Medicare at 20 Years Old. Here Is Why.

Most people my age were figuring out college. I was sitting across the table from retirees, learning their stories, and helping them find the right plan. Seven years later, this is still what I do every day.

The Short Version of a Long Story

My name is Andy Childs. I am 27 years old and I have spent the last 7 years helping Arizona seniors navigate Medicare. That is not a typo. I really did start at 20.

It was not the plan. I did not grow up dreaming about insurance. But when I got the opportunity to help people who were confused and overwhelmed by Medicare, something clicked. I realized I was good at breaking down complicated topics into simple language. I liked sitting with someone, hearing about their doctors and their medications, and then showing them a plan that actually made sense for their life.

Seven years later, I have helped hundreds of families across the East Valley. I have seen plans change, carriers come and go, and new rules roll out every year. Through all of it, my approach has stayed the same: listen first, explain clearly, and never push someone toward a plan that is not right for them.

“When you call me, you get me. Not a call center, not a recording, not a rotating team of strangers. Just a real person who knows your name and remembers your situation.”

I am based right here in Mesa, Arizona. I am licensed, independent, and I work with multiple insurance companies so I can compare options side by side. That means I do not get paid more for recommending one plan over another. My only incentive is helping you find the right fit.

And if your situation changes next year? I am still here. I review my clients’ plans every fall during Open Enrollment to make sure they are still getting the best deal. That is not something you get from a 1-800 number.

What I Believe About Medicare Help

These are the principles behind every conversation I have with a client.

1

You Deserve a Real Conversation

Medicare decisions are personal. They involve your doctors, your medications, and your budget. That is not something you should figure out from a website or a TV commercial. You deserve someone who will sit with you and talk it through.

2

There Is No One Best Plan

The right plan depends on your situation. What works for your neighbor might not work for you. I never start with a recommendation. I start by asking questions and listening to the answers.

3

Help Should Be Free

I am paid by insurance companies when you enroll, not by you. You pay the same premium whether you use a broker or go directly to the carrier. There is no markup, no hidden fee, and no catch. My help is genuinely free.

4

The Relationship Does Not End at Enrollment

Most brokers disappear after you sign up. I do not. I check in on my clients. I review their plans every year. If something changes with your health or your coverage, I want to know so I can help.

5

Independence Matters

I am not employed by any insurance company. I do not have a quota for any specific plan. When I recommend something, it is because I believe it is the best option for you based on your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget.

6

Simplicity Is a Feature

Medicare does not have to be confusing. Most of the confusion comes from jargon and fine print. I explain everything in plain English so you can make a decision you feel good about.

My Promise to Every Client

I will answer my phone. When you call, you get me. If I am with another client, I will call you back the same day.
I will never pressure you. My job is to give you information and options. The decision is always yours.
I will check your doctors and prescriptions. Before recommending any plan, I verify that your current providers and medications are covered.
I will explain the tradeoffs. Every plan has pros and cons. I will show you both so you can make an informed choice.
I will be here next year. I review every client’s plan during Open Enrollment each fall to make sure it still fits.
